International Application and Admission Process

Admission procedures are established for all programs. Priority is given to Canadian residents and landed immigrants. Provision may be made for international students applying to programs. International applicants are encouraged to have completed documents submitted by May 1 for programs starting in September of each academic year.

International Students – Parkland College Certificate, Diploma and University Programs

Ex. Business Certificate, Continuing Care Assistant Certificate, Entrepreneurship Certificate, Office Education Certificate, Post Grad Certificates, University Programs

  1. Complete the Online Application Form OR Printable Application Form
  2. Pay the $140.00 CAD non-refundable application fee in the form of a money order, certified cheque or credit card.
  3. Submit all official secondary and post-secondary transcripts from your home country as well from within Canada. A scanned copy of the documents is acceptable with application, however an original copy of the documents must be presented upon your arrival. If you need to order original documents they should be sent directly to Parkland College. All documents not in English must accompany notarized translations.
  4. Provide proof of English proficiency (example, IELTS minimum 6.5) if English is not your first language. If testing is required, have documentation sent directly to Parkland College from the testing service.
  5. Provide a copy of passport.
  6. Send application form, registration fee and other required documents to:

Important Notes for Certificate/Diploma Applicants:

  • Once a student is accepted into a certificate or diploma program, a letter of acceptance will be sent to the student.
  • A tuition deposit towards the first semester must be made in order to secure a seat in the program.
  • There is a $100.00CAD fee for documents that are sent by courier.

Study Permits

  • International Students must apply for a Canada Study Permit from the Canadian Embassy if you plan to study for more than 6 months.
  • The official letter of acceptance must be included with your study permit application.
  • It is strongly recommended that you submit the study permit application at least three months before the start of classes to allow adequate time for processing. View information on the study permit process at
  • In addition to the letter of acceptance, you will have to prove that you have sufficient funds to cover tuition costs and living expenses for the duration of your study period.
