Overview

Customized Surface Training for the Mining Industry

This 3 day course is designed to provide an introductory overview on basic mine rescue. Based on the Alberta Surface Mine Rescue Manual, students will have an opportunity to learn the skills demanded of an Emergency Response Team.

Although mine disasters are rare, the most commonly reported dangerous occurrences involve fire, machinery or electrical equipment. Elements of the course will include hazards including fire, equipment including extrication, rope rescue and rescue operations. The course can also be customized to specific employer needs, and is flexible based on the knowledge level of participants.
