The SaskPolytech Electrician Applied Certificate is designed for those individuals interested in entry level positions to make electrical installations and perform maintenance duties according to industry standards.

Important Notes

  • Classes will be held Monday to Friday and times will vary depending on availability of shop space.
  • PPE is required for this program and for work placement including CSA Steel Toe Work Boots, Safety Glasses, and Coveralls.
  • Trade time and academic credit may be available for graduates who find employment in the trade and register as apprentices. For more information please contact Saskatchewan Apprenticeship and Trade Certification Commission.

Career Opportunities

Graduates are prepared to work with electrical contractors, large manufacturing and mining firms, retail outlets or wholesale outlets, or they may be self-employed. Trade time and academic credit may be available for graduates who find employment in the trade and register as apprentices. Example job titles may include:

  • construction electrician
  • domestic and rural electrician
  • apprentice electrician
  • electrician

Admission Requirements

  • Grade 11 with Foundations of Mathematics 20 or Workplace and Apprenticeship Mathematics 20 or Pre-Calculus 20 or Previous Math 20, GED 12 (Grade 12 preferred), Special Admission
