Parkland College’s Dollars for Scholars Golf Classic Raised $16,020!

Yorkton, SK – Parkland College and RBC are pleased to announce that the fifth annual Dollars for Scholars Golf Classic held on June 25th at Deer Park Golf Course in Yorkton raised $16,020.

All the proceeds from this tournament will go towards scholarships for College students entering into post-secondary programs at Parkland College explains Vanora Isaac, Dollars for Scholars Chairperson; “the golf tournament is a significant contribution to our overall scholarship initiative, which provides the opportunity for students within the region to stay and to study locally.” With the help of the Dollars for Scholars fund raising event, Parkland College was able to award over $65,000 in scholarships this past year. “In addition to supporting our event, RBC contributes a $1,000 annually to our scholarship fund for students enrolled in full-time business programs at Parkland College,” adds Isaac.

 

“The Dollars for Scholars was a great success thanks to the many generous donors, community supporters, volunteers, and sponsors,” says Isaac. As tournament sponsors, RBC, GX 94 and Fox FM, all played a major role in the overall success of the tournament. Approximately 90 golfers participated in this year’s tournament.

Join Parkland College at next year’s fund raising tournament scheduled to take place on June 17, 2011, at Deer Park Golf Course.

Dollars for Scholars Golf Classic Postponed to June 25

Yorkton, SK – Unfortunately due to the current weather and golf course conditions, Parkland College and RBC have decided to postpone the 5th annual Dollars for Scholars Golf Classic to Friday, June 25, 2010 at Deer Park Golf Course in Yorkton. The tournament was originally scheduled to occur on Friday, June 18, 2010 (tomorrow).

All proceeds from this tournament go towards scholarships for College students entering into post-secondary programs at Parkland College explains Vanora Isaac, Dollars for Scholars Chairperson; “the golf tournament is a significant contribution to our overall scholarship initiative, which provides the opportunity for students within the region to stay and to study locally.”

Major sponsors of this event include RBC, GX 94 and Fox FM. If participants are interested in partaking in this event, they are to contact Parkland College.

Parkland College Offers Master of Education Administration Degree from the University of Saskatchewan

Yorkton, SK – Parkland College is very pleased to once again offer the Master of Education Administration degree from the University of Saskatchewan. A new cohort will begin in January 2011 and conclude in June 2013.

This program allows local educators to participate in meaningful, professional development in the convenience of learning within their community, without having to leave work and/or home. “Teachers can participate in a master’s program while continuing with their day-to-day work and personal activities. Participants in this program benefit from being part of a group of colleagues who move through the program together and learn from each other without having to drive to the big city.”
