Parkland College is bringing an interactive language class to Canora. The “Conversational Ukrainian” course will be delivered over two months, beginning Feb. 11.
Interactive classes will take place Tuesdays from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Parkland College campus in Canora (418 Main Street). Students will learn basic Ukrainian, including how to greet people, ask questions, and have simple conversations. Instructors will take input from the group each night and work on topics students are interested in.
“It’s a perfect course for people who like to travel or for those who have relatives or friends who speak Ukrainian,” said Connie Brown, Coordinator of Corporate Training & Community Development with Parkland College. “We hope to have a second course in reading and writing Ukrainian in the future.”
Weekly classes begin Feb. 11 and run through Apr. 15 (no class on Feb. 18). Tuition is $179 plus GST. The registration deadline is Jan. 29. To register or for more details, call 306.563.6808 or toll-free 1.866.783.6766.
