Parkland College campuses closed to students and public

Effective Friday, March 20, Parkland College campuses are closed to students and members of the public.

This comes after the Government of Saskatchewan declared a state of emergency on Wednesday due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Together with the Ministry of Advanced Education and other post-secondary institutions in the province, Parkland College staff will be working remotely, wherever possible. Limited key services will be available only at the Yorkton Main Campus. Access to the campus will be restricted to employees who are providing critical services, such as Technology, Facilities, and Finance, and staff who are needed to support online instruction.

“Parkland College remains committed to keeping our communities healthy, safe, and informed during this time,” said President Dr. Mark Hoddenbagh. “We are taking every precaution to protect the well-being of students, faculty, staff, and partners.”

In-person classes were suspended March 17. Online courses are scheduled to begin on Monday, March 23.

These actions are intended to limit the number of people at each campus, to help stop the spread of COVID-19, and to protect our campus communities.

This plan is in place through April 3. However, the situation is rapidly evolving, so changes may occur. Click here for the latest information on Parkland College’s response.
