Parkland College receives federal grant for mental health supports and tutorials

The Yorkton & District Community Foundation (YDCF) has awarded a grant of almost $8,000 to Parkland College to help fund mental health supports and tutorials for the new academic year.

The YDCF is responsible for delivering the federal government’s Emergency Community Support Fund (ECSF) in Yorkton and surrounding communities. The fund is aimed at helping community groups to serve vulnerable Canadians during the COVID-19 crisis.

Through the ECSF, $75,000 was made available to assist charities and qualifying recipients in the Yorkton area. Grants were also awarded to SaskAbilities, Boys & Girls Club of Yorkton, SIGN (Society for the Involvement of Good Neighbours), and Rail City Industries in Melville.
