Leadership Skills for Front Line Managers

Overview

This program is ideal for people who are new to supervision, or supervisors wanting to improve their skills. The four modules are job-oriented, practical, and useful. Participants will be involved in role-plays, case studies, and group discussions to learn about positive, objective approaches to supervision. This program is developed and delivered by Pine Tree Management Skills Inc. 

Module 1: Supervision

(roles and responsibilities, decision-making, authority, groups, discipline, problem-solving, motivation, leadership)

Module 2: How to Work with People

(communication, communication styles, performance management approaches, coaching, change)

Module 3: How to Get the Work Out

(work goals and priorities, task analysis, scheduling, planning, directing)

Module 4: Employee Selection and Training

(supervisor’s role, training, selection, adult learning, occupational health & safety)
December 1 & 2, 2020 OR December 8 & 9, 2020

This course is now eligible under the Agricultural Skills and Knowledge (ASK) program, which assists producers with educational expenses for farm management courses or training activities. About the Facilitators

All Pine Tree instructors have extensive supervisory and management experience (a minimum of 10 years). Participants benefit from their skill and knowledge, both as supervisors and as teachers.
