OHS Health Committees Level 1
The Level 1 Occupational Health Committee (OHC) Course is an introductory course for OHC members and occupational health and safety representatives.
You will learn:
- How to locate relevant information in Saskatchewan Occupational Health and Safety legislation to address occupational health and safety (OHS) issues in your workplace
- The requirements for establishing and operating an effective OHC
- The duties and role of the OHC within the OHS Workplace Responsibility System
- How to identify and assess workplace hazards
- How to identify and recommend corrective actions to control workplace hazards
- How to handle OHS concerns and investigate refusals to work
There is no pre-requisite for attending this course.

The courses are delivered by certified trainers and meet or exceed Occupational Health and Safety Standards. We offer face to face and online options plus we can customize courses and deliver them on-site to meet the needs of businesses.

Parkland College remains committed to keeping our communities healthy, safe, and informed during this time. Parkland College continues to follow COVID-19 guidelines from both the province and the federal government. These guidelines are updated frequently in response to the rapidly evolving situation, and our approach in this situation will change as well.
For everyone’s protection, these are some of the many practices that are in place:
- masks are optional
- physical distancing
- increased frequency of cleaning using Health Canada approved cleaners
- hand sanitizer
- reducing touch points
- increased hand washing
- screening questionnaire
- asking students to arrive no earlier than 15 minutes to avoid loitering
- limited breaks
- asking anyone who is feeling unwell to stay home

Notice of cancellation must be received 3 business days prior to the course. |
Important Notes:
- On the first day of training registration is at 8:00 a.m. and classes begin at 8:30 a.m.
- Yorkton Safety Classes are held at the Trades & Technology Centre at 273 Dracup Ave North.
- Parkland College continues to follow COVID-19 guidelines from both the province and the federal government
